Palestinian Journalists Syndicate calls for medical evacuations in Gaza

The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate has reported that journalists and media workers in the Gaza Strip are facing extreme conditions due to ongoing conflict, displacement, and the collapse of the local healthcare system. The syndicate highlighted that many media professionals are suffering from severe injuries and chronic illnesses that require specialized surgical care and rehabilitation unavailable within the territory.

The syndicate’s Freedoms Committee has documented dozens of cases requiring urgent medical evacuation outside of Gaza. Notable cases include journalist Zakaria Al-Talmas, who requires treatment following an amputation, and photographer Mohammad Fayeq Abu Mustafa, who has suffered from paralysis in his lower limbs following an attack near Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.

The syndicate warned that delays in accessing appropriate medical care could lead to permanent disabilities or death for these individuals.
