Palestinian labor leaders prioritize trade union strengthening

Ahmed Majdalani, Secretary-General of the Palestinian People's Struggle Front, has identified the protection of working-class rights and the strengthening of the trade union movement as national and social priorities.

During an expanded meeting of the Executive Office and Administrative Board of the Palestinian Workers' Struggle Union, leaders discussed the challenges facing the labor sector. The discussions focused on the impact of Israeli policies on workers' livelihoods, which have contributed to rising unemployment and poverty.

Participants outlined a future work plan for the union, which includes developing organizational tools, increasing presence across various work sectors, and enhancing mechanisms to monitor and document violations. The plan also aims to address issues regarding wages, employment, social protection, and occupational safety, while strengthening ties with international and Arab labor movements.
