Palestinian man killed by settlers in West Bank village of Yassouf
Mashhour Shaher Mohammed Yassin, a 51-year-old Palestinian man, died following a shooting by Israeli settlers in the village of Yassouf, east of Salfit in the West Bank.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health and the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, Yassin was shot in the abdomen while attempting to defend his home from a group of settlers armed with firearms and sticks. His nephew was also injured during the attack. Yassin was transported to Salfit Government Hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds.
Local community leaders reported that the village has faced daily attacks, including stone-throwing and livestock theft, following the establishment of a new settlement outpost nearby. The Israeli military stated it is investigating the incident. This event occurs amid a documented rise in settler-related violence in the West Bank since October 2023.
