Palestinian Media Watch report alleges PA schools glorified October 7 attacks

A new report by the Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) research institute alleges that schools operated by the Palestinian Authority (PA) have openly glorified and celebrated the October 7 attacks. Researchers Itamar Marcus and Aaron Shapiro documented instances where the Hamas-led massacre was incorporated into school ceremonies, student performances, and marches.

The report claims that the glorification extends to academic materials, including mathematics exercises and writing assignments that praise the atrocities. PMW asserts that these activities occurred in schools within Areas A and B of the West Bank, some of which receive funding through UNRWA.

Documented materials include recitations that describe the attacks as a moment of pride and liberation, with some passages characterizing the events as a ‘beautiful dream’ and expressing a desire for martyrdom. The report highlights that these celebrations and educational materials were captured in videos and schoolwork used to instill these sentiments in students.
