Palestinian Ministry of Finance expands Yebus app to retirees
Palestinian Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr. Istifan Salameh, announced that the ‘Yebus’ application will be made available to both civilian and military retirees starting in early September. This follows a successful pilot phase where more than 53,000 employees utilized the service.
Retirees can access services within one week of registration. The application is designed to help meet essential family needs, such as electricity, water, telecommunications, and internet services. Salameh noted that the service will eventually expand to include certain municipal and government services, as well as contract employees with outstanding entitlements from the Ministry of Finance.
During the pilot phase, the application facilitated the payment of 200,000 bills. A second installment of 500 shekels for participating employees is expected to be disbursed in the coming days. The initiative aims to use digital financial solutions to support the resilience of public sector workers and retirees.
