Palestinian Monetary Authority reports 73% financial inclusion by mid‑2026
The Palestinian Monetary Authority announced that the share of adults with access to formal financial services rose to 73% by mid‑2026, up from 64% in 2025. The increase reflects growth in both bank account holders, which reached about 1.8 million, and digital‑wallet users, which grew to roughly 2 million, including 560 000 wallets held by people without a bank account.
Gender gaps narrowed, with female financial inclusion climbing to 60% from 48% and male inclusion rising to 86% from 80%. The Authority highlighted the role of electronic wallets and digital payment channels in maintaining access to money transfers, payments and daily financial needs amid the region’s economic and humanitarian challenges.
