Palestinian National Council election committee meets Fatah leadership in Kuwait

The Palestinian National Council election follow-up committee met with the Fatah movement leadership in Kuwait to discuss preparations for upcoming elections. The committee, which includes Fatah Central Committee member Yasser Abbas and Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Central Council member Ahmed Assaf, held the meeting with Kuwait-based Fatah regional Secretary Hisham Ibrahim and other regional members.

Discussions focused on adopting an electoral assembly as the democratic mechanism to select representatives from the Palestinian community in Kuwait for membership in the Palestinian National Council. The participants emphasized the need to expand participation to ensure broad representation of the Palestinian diaspora, specifically highlighting the importance of involving women and youth.

The meeting aimed to ensure the success of the elections as a vital national and democratic milestone, reinforcing the unity of Palestinian representation and institutions. The committee noted that these meetings are part of a broader effort to coordinate technical and logistical arrangements for holding Palestinian National Council elections abroad.
