Palestinian Presidency calls for urgent UN Security Council meeting

The Palestinian Presidency has called for an urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council to address Israeli incursions into UN premises in Jerusalem and Qalandia. The Presidency stated that the Israeli Minister of Internal Security entered these sites as a precursor to demolishing UNRWA facilities in Qalandia.

According to the Presidency, these actions constitute a serious violation of international law and the immunity of international institutions. The statement warned that such escalations aim to alter the demographic and geographic reality of the occupied Palestinian territories and undermine the two-state solution. The Presidency urged the international community to provide protection for UN institutions and to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2334 to end the occupation.
