Palestinian Red Crescent transforms damaged ambulance into ‘Dream Bus’

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society has converted a damaged ambulance into the ‘Dream Bus’ to provide humanitarian services in the Gaza Strip. The vehicle, which was originally damaged by Israeli bombardments, has been repaired and repurposed to travel to displaced persons' camps.

Coordinated by Ghalib Abu Khater, the initiative offers educational, recreational, and psychological support to children, the wounded, and the elderly. In areas like Khan Yunis, the bus provides activities such as film screenings, storytelling, and games designed to help children cope with the effects of war, develop linguistic skills, and learn to avoid unexploded ordnance.

Team member Shawq Kalab noted that because television is unavailable to many, the bus provides essential engagement through illustrated stories and colorful visual content to help children develop social values and cooperation.
