Palestinian UN representative calls for full Gaza plan implementation

Riyad Mansour, the Palestinian representative to the United Nations, has called for the full implementation of a 20-point plan for Gaza. He emphasized that the plan must be executed in its entirety rather than selectively, noting that certain aspects have been welcomed while others remain unfulfilled.

Mansour highlighted the significant role of Egypt in supporting the Palestinian cause and working toward ending the war. He also noted that the plan, which includes a ceasefire, is built on three pillars: no occupation, no annexation, and no forced displacement. He identified Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a primary obstacle to the complete implementation of the plan, suggesting that the Israeli government continues to resist mediation efforts regarding arms in Gaza.

During the 81st UN General Assembly, Mansour referenced a global alliance of approximately 100 countries, led by Saudi Arabia, the European Union, and Norway, which supports the two-state solution. He reiterated that the only viable path forward is the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and the end of the occupation.
