Palghar: 11 people hospitalized after consuming contaminated cake
Eleven people, including seven minors, were hospitalized following a mass food poisoning incident during a birthday celebration in Nalasopara East, Palghar district, India. The victims experienced severe gastrointestinal symptoms, including nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dizziness, and headaches, shortly after consuming a cake.
Three of the patients were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), though medical reports indicate they are currently stable. Some affected individuals claimed to have found a dead lizard inside the cake, though this has not been officially confirmed.
The Palghar Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has launched an investigation, collecting samples of the cake for laboratory analysis to determine the exact cause of the contamination.
