Palghar development initiatives announced by Guardian Minister

During Independence Day celebrations in Palghar, Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik outlined several development initiatives aimed at boosting employment, tribal welfare, agriculture, animal husbandry, and sports.

To support disaster victims, the government has provided 10.33 crore rupees in immediate assistance for food, clothing, and housing losses. Additionally, Palghar has received 39.86 crore rupees in special extra aid from the government. In the current fiscal year, over one lakh laborers have secured employment, with 65 crore rupees in wages distributed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Key social programs include the ‘Vikasit Bharat Rozgar va Aajivika Guarantee Abhiyan-Gramin’ to curb migration in tribal areas, and the ‘Lek Ladki’ scheme, which has benefited approximately 6,500 newborn girls. Environmental efforts include the planting of 160,000 saplings and 531 water conservation projects. The district also highlighted athletic achievements, noting that 11 local athletes have secured national-level medals.
