Pallof Press and Plank Exercises Boost Core Strength

The Pallof Press, devised by physiotherapist John Pallof, targets the entire core—including the obliques—while also engaging the back, arms and legs. Performed with a resistance or Thera‑band anchored at chest height, the movement improves trunk stability and helps prevent injuries, making it popular in rehabilitation and fitness programs.

Planking is an equipment‑free, isometric exercise that activates the abdominal, back and shoulder muscles. Regular practice strengthens the core, enhances posture, increases flexibility of the posterior chain, raises metabolism, and reinforces mental focus. Both exercises are promoted for overall body strength and functional stability.
