Palm Beach County airport rebrands to President Trump International

Palm Beach County’s main commercial airport has completed its transition to the President Donald J. Trump International Airport. As of August 18, 2026, the facility’s International Air Transport Association (IATA) code has officially changed from PBI to DJT.

The rebranding follows state legislation signed by Governor Ron DeSantis in March 2026. The transition involves updates to global aviation systems, including flight-planning databases, airline ticketing platforms, baggage tracking, and passenger signage. The Palm Beach County Department of Airports estimates the total transition cost at approximately $5.5 million, with $2.75 million allocated from the state budget.

A licensing agreement was approved by Palm Beach County commissioners in May with DTTM Operations LLC, a company managed by Donald Trump Jr. This agreement allows for the use of the president’s name for rebranding and signage, and permits authorized retailers to sell branded merchandise. Despite the name and code changes, Palm Beach County continues to own and manage the airport facility.
