Palm Beach International Airport renamed after Donald Trump

Palm Beach International Airport has officially been renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport. The transition, which became official in July, makes Trump the first sitting U.S. president to have an airport named in his honor.

The renaming project is estimated to cost approximately $5.5 million. State funding is covering half of the projected costs, amounting to $2.75 million, while the Palm Beach County Department of Airports seeks additional funding sources to cover the remaining balance.

Logistical changes include the installation of new signage and an update to the airport’s International Air Transport Association (IATA) code, which transitioned from ‘PBI’ to ‘DJT’ on Tuesday. Trump expressed his approval of the change via Truth Social, stating it was a ‘Great Honor’ and promising the facility would become one of the most spectacular airports in the world.
