Palm Springs Animal Shelter waives adoption fees this weekend

The Palm Springs Animal Shelter is waiving all adoption fees this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., as part of the national ‘Clear the Shelters’ campaign. The initiative aims to find homes for the shelter's current population, which includes over 100 dogs and nearly 100 cats, such as puppies and kittens.

Adoption costs are being covered by the Marco Colantonio Real Estate Group. While fees are waived, the shelter will maintain its standard adoption process to ensure animals are placed in suitable homes. Officials anticipate large crowds and potential lines during the event.

The local effort is part of a broader national campaign by NBCUniversal Local, which has facilitated over 1.3 million pet adoptions since its inception in 2015.
