Palm Springs announces leadership changes in city management and police
Palm Springs is undergoing leadership transitions in its municipal administration and law enforcement. City Manager Scott Stiles has announced his retirement, effective November 1. During his tenure, Stiles secured $50 million in bridge funding following Tropical Storm Hilary in 2023 and oversaw the opening of the city’s navigation center.
Simultaneously, Kyle Stjerne has been officially sworn in as the new Chief of Police for Palm Springs. A 24-year veteran of the Palm Springs Police Department, Stjerne previously served as deputy chief and has held various leadership roles, including SWAT team leader and detective sergeant. He succeeds former Chief Andy Mills.
