Palm Springs celebrates Marilyn Monroe centenary and LGBTQ weekend festivities

From May 29‑31, 2026 Palm Springs hosted a weekend of community events. The city marked what would have been Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday with a platinum‑themed jubilee at Downtown Park, featuring food vendors, live entertainment and a Guinness World Record attempt for the largest gathering of Marilyn Monroe look‑alikes.

During the same period the Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week ran from May 29 to June 7, offering prix‑fixe menus at restaurants across the Coachella Valley, with each reservation contributing $1 to the FIND Food Bank. The Villain Arts Palm Springs Tattoo Arts Festival also took place at the convention center, showcasing tattoo artists, vendors and live performances.

The promotional material highlighted hashtags such as #ILoveGayPalmSprings and #FindYourOasis, indicating a focus on LGBTQ travelers.
