Palm Springs Center Stage Gala honors The L-Fund legacy

The Center Stage Gala was held on October 16 at the Palm Springs Air Museum to support The LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert. The event featured musical performance by Marisa Corvo and an auction to fund various community needs, including medical bills, housing emergencies, and educational tuition.

A central highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Center’s Legacy Award. The honor recognized the founders of The L-Fund—Betty Berrysmith, Barbara Carpenter, Ruth Debra, Sharon Siegel, Kate Ullman, and the late Bobreta Franklin—for their work in supporting lesbians facing financial hardship. Founded in 2012, The L-Fund merged with The Center in 2026 to provide assistance for health, wellness, education, and the arts.
