Palm Springs design blends mid-century style with global influences

Palm Springs continues to serve as a hub for unique interior design and architectural preservation. Designer and real estate professional David Rios has spent over 25 years working at the intersection of renovation, design, and hospitality. Since moving to the area in 2015, Rios has focused on tailoring design approaches to the specific personality of properties, ranging from historic Art Deco residences to contemporary vacation homes.

In a similar vein of blending styles, homeowners Kenya and Taib Lotfi have utilized their Alexander-designed modular home to showcase an organic modern, multiethnic aesthetic. As owners of the local shop Soukie Modern, the couple integrates vintage and new Moroccan rugs and textiles into their living spaces, moving away from traditional Atomic Age looks in favor of a more global, curated vibe.
