Palm Springs hosts Scoop Ice Cream Festival to support community food bank
The second annual Scoop Palm Springs Ice Cream Festival took place at Downtown Park on November 1, featuring over 20 makers of ice cream, gelato, and paletas. The event aimed to raise funds and awareness for the LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert, specifically its Community Food Bank, which provides free groceries to hundreds of local families weekly.
Despite cloudy skies and light rain, the festival included tastings, music, and family activities. Organizers noted that the inaugural event raised $21,000 and collected over 300 pounds of food. This year’s festivities also introduced The Scoop Collective, a limited ticket experience featuring culinary collaborations between local dessert makers and other businesses.
