Palm Springs International Airport economic impact reaches $2.55 billion
A study commissioned by Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) indicates the facility generated approximately $2.55 billion to $2.6 billion in economic output during the last fiscal year. The airport's economic impact is driven by three primary sectors: airport services, capital investments, and visitor spending.
Visitor spending, encompassing commercial service and general aviation travelers, accounted for over $1 billion in direct spending and supported more than 10,000 jobs. This activity benefits regional businesses including hotels, restaurants, retailers, and transportation providers throughout the Coachella Valley. Airport services, including airlines and concessionaires, contributed $1 billion in output and supported 6,223 jobs.
In fiscal year 2025, PSP invested $47.2 million in capital improvements, which generated $59 million in economic output and supported hundreds of jobs. Ongoing and planned infrastructure projects include a new baggage handling system, a new concourse, international arrival facilities, and new rental car facilities to meet future demand.
