Palm Valley School campus listed for $14 million after sudden closure

The 36-acre campus of Palm Valley School in Rancho Mirage, California, has been listed for sale for $14 million following the institution's abrupt closure and bankruptcy filing this summer.

Founded in 1952, the school served as the only private, co-educational, non-religious college-preparatory day school in the Coachella Valley. The campus includes facilities for preschool, lower, middle, and upper school students, featuring 53 classrooms, a gymnasium, a science lab, an outdoor amphitheater, and various athletic fields.

The closure has caused significant distress among parents and staff. Financial difficulties first became public in April when the school mentioned potential mergers with an international organization. Despite earlier assurances in May that a gift would guarantee the school's continued operation, the institution officially shuttered in June.
