Palma del Río: Virgin of Belén returns to restored camarín

The Virgin of Belén in Palma del Río has returned to her camarín to preside over upcoming patron saint festivities. This follows a restoration project initiated last year to repair the 18th-century space.

The camarín, a significant example of Andalusian sacred art, features fresco-secco pictorial sets from the 18th century. The restoration was necessary due to deterioration caused by humidity, time, and previous interventions that had altered the original colors and cohesion of the pigments. A final inauguration and blessing of the space are expected to take place after the festivities conclude.
