Palma police arrest man for attempted kidnapping of a minor

The National Police have arrested a man in Palma following an attempted kidnapping of a minor on August 8. The incident occurred around 11:00 PM while the girl was walking to a relative's home.

According to investigators, two men attempted to force the minor into a parked van with its rear doors open. The suspects reportedly grabbed the girl by her hands and feet. The abduction was thwarted by a group of women nearby who intervened to assist the victim. Following the intervention, one suspect fled on foot while the other escaped in the vehicle.

The arrested individual was identified by the victim and was reportedly under an active restraining order that prohibited him from coming within 500 meters of her. He faces charges of attempted illegal detention and breach of a court sentence. The victim reported that the suspect had been stalking her for several years.
