Palmar invests $15 million to modernize Córdoba plant for centennial
Palmar, a leading ceramic brick manufacturer, is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a $15 million investment to modernize its industrial plant in Córdoba, Argentina. The investment focuses on technological transformation, including the implementation of a fully robotized production line featuring six robotic arms and new European technology.
This modernization, which includes a new kiln and facility expansion, aims to increase production capacity by 30%, enough to produce daily bricks for 150 homes. Founded in 1926 by Piero Astori, the company has evolved from a manufacturer of solid bricks and tiles to a global industry reference, introducing innovations such as load-bearing hollow bricks and thermo-efficient bricks.
Currently led by María Pía Astori, the company maintains a strong link to the region through the Fundación Mediterránea and various cultural initiatives, including the Museo Piero Astori and contemporary art awards. The company currently provides 200 direct jobs.
