Palmas and Brusque launch digital traffic management platforms
The municipal government of Palmas, Brazil, joined the Waze Partnership program, allowing the city’s traffic engineering data to be shared directly on the Waze navigation app. The integration lets officials post planned road closures for events or construction and enables users to report hazards, accidents, and congestion, helping traffic teams respond more quickly.
In Brusque, the city’s Traffic and Mobility Secretariat released the Observatório do Trânsito, an online portal that aggregates traffic‑related statistics such as collisions, violations, vehicle fleet data and road‑safety reports. The platform is intended to increase transparency, support data‑driven policy making and improve road safety for residents.
