Palmas and Palmital host community service and employment events

The city of Palmas is hosting the ‘Palmas Acolhe’ event this Saturday at the Aureny III Subprefecture. This integrated initiative, part of the ‘Prefeitura na Comunidade’ program, offers free services in health, sports, culture, education, and sustainability. Health activities include anthropometric measurements and mental health workshops led by medical and nursing students from the Federal University of Tocantins. Cultural offerings for youth include educational cinema, literature, and virtual reality experiences, while sports activities such as football and volleyball will be available.

In Palmital, the local government held a job fair through the Central do Cidadão to connect unemployed residents with regional companies. Participating businesses, including Supermercado Avenida, Raízes Fortuna, and Grupo Zambianco (representing the Nova Platina Bioenergia plant), offered various positions ranging from drivers and production assistants to specialized industrial operators. The event also provided assistance with resume writing and document preparation to facilitate formal employment.
