Palmas City Council approves road state-ization and new development projects
The Palmas City Council has approved three executive projects, including a measure to transfer the management and ownership of specific road sections to the State of Tocantins. This initiative, requested by Mayor Eduardo Siqueira Campos, aims to improve regional logistics and traffic flow in the Serra de Taquaruçu region.
The state-ization involves two main stretches: the Alça Serra de Taquaruçu, spanning approximately 22 kilometers from TO-365 to BR-010, and the Alça Taquaruçu Grande, a 10-kilometer stretch connecting BR-010 to Posto Machado.
Additionally, the council approved the creation of the Sarah Gomes Inclusive Education and Health Center (CESI) and the establishment of the Palmas Program for Agribusiness Development and Food Security, which provides economic and fiscal incentives to strengthen the local agricultural sector. The approved measures now await sanction by the Executive Power.
