Palmas holds initiative for trans identity document rectification

The Palmas Extraordinary Secretariat for Racial Equality and Human Rights (Seirdh) is hosting the ‘Meu Nome, Meu Direito’ (My Name, My Right) initiative. This program provides free assistance to transgender and travesty individuals seeking to rectify their name and gender in civil registries.

In partnership with the Palmas Civil Registry Office, the event will take place at Espaço Aroeira. The registry office will provide guidance on documentation and manage the opening of legal processes, supported by the Seirdh team. Participants must bring required documentation, including updated birth or marriage certificates, identification copies, proof of residence, and various civil, criminal, and electoral certificates from the last five years.
