Palmas residents to register for R$ 40,000 housing improvement program

Residents of Jardim Taquari in Palmas can register for the ‘Periferia Viva – Reformas’ program during a municipal task force on Thursday, the 3rd. The initiative, coordinated by the Federal Government through the Ministry of Cities in partnership with Caixa Econômica Federal, aims to improve housing conditions for families in social vulnerability.

Palmas has been allocated 280 housing improvements. In the first stage, 140 families from specific streets in Jardim Taquari will be benefited. A subsequent stage will cover another 140 families in the Irmã Dulce sector. The program provides subsidies of up to R$ 40,000 per residence for interventions such as bathroom renovations, sanitary adjustments, room expansions, and structural improvements.

To qualify, properties must not require total reconstruction and must present sanitary inadequacies. Eligible families must have a gross monthly income of up to R$ 2,850. Total exemption from financial contributions is guaranteed for families enrolled in the Bolsa Família program, those with members receiving the Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC), or those residing in recognized emergency or calamity areas.
