PalmCo aims for global palm oil market through export expansion
Dony Oskaria, the Chief Operating Officer of Danantara and Head of State-Owned Enterprises, has met with PalmCo leadership to discuss transforming the company into a global player in the palm oil industry.
While PalmCo has traditionally focused on meeting domestic market obligations (DMO) in Indonesia, the company is now implementing a roadmap to increase international market penetration. A key strategy involves utilizing production surpluses remaining after DMO requirements are met to boost export volumes.
To remain competitive against international rivals and reduce costs, PalmCo plans to develop refinery facilities abroad. This move aims to transition the company into a provider of refined palm oil on a global scale. Danantara intends for this transformation to serve as a benchmark for other companies within its ecosystem and the private sector.
