Palmeira dos Índios hosts FIPI 2026 winter festival and free theater showcase
The Festival de Inverno de Palmeira (FIPI) 2026 is set to begin in 15 days, featuring a lineup of Brazilian musical acts. Highlights include singer‑songwriter Rey Vaqueiro, reggae veteran Edson Gomes, calypso star Joelma, the arrocha group Toque Dez and the samba ensemble Quinteto S/A. The municipal government released a guide to the main attractions, emphasizing the artists' regional popularity and cultural significance.
Separately, the city will present the first edition of the Mostra Mestres em Cena theater series, offering six free performances on August 14‑16 and 28‑30. Shows will be staged at the Centro Paroquial Dom Otávio Aguiar and the Auditorio da Escola Estadual Humberto Mendes, with an estimated audience of 600. Participating groups come from Alagoas and Pernambuco, including productions from Palmeira dos Índios, Arapiraca, Quebrangulo, Taquarana and Bom Conselho. The initiative aims to democratize access to the performing arts and foster regional cultural exchange.
