Várzea Grande Municipal Guard detains man for assaulting former stepmother

A 22-year-old man was detained by the Várzea Grande Municipal Guard on Sunday night following the physical assault of his 45-year-old former stepmother in the Santa Isabel neighborhood.

The victim reported that she had brought food to the suspect's pregnant partner, who had reportedly gone without food for over a day. During the ensuing argument, the man allegedly attacked the woman, striking her with kicks to the stomach. Neighbors intervened to stop the violence and alerted authorities via the Municipal Security Intelligence Center.

Upon locating the suspect at a different address, officers noted that he admitted to a disagreement but claimed both parties had engaged in a physical altercation. The man was taken to the police station for legal proceedings.
