Palmeiras and Flamengo eye South American forwards after World Cup hype

Brazilian clubs Palmeiras and Flamengo have intensified interest in two South American forwards following the recent FIFA World Cup. Palmeiras is monitoring Paraguayan midfielder Julio Enciso, currently at Strasbourg, after the player's strong performances raised his market value to around €35 million (≈ R$148 million). The club has no formal negotiations but fans are urging a high‑profile signing to boost the team's attack.

Flamengo’s staff is similarly working to secure Ecuadorian winger Gonzalo Plata, whose displays in the tournament sparked renewed European interest. While no concrete offers have emerged, the player’s increased valuation is prompting the club to explore possible moves to Europe before the window closes.
