Palmeiras demands €5 million for Rômulo as Grêmio’s budget stalls

Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras set a €5 million (about R$32 million) price tag for midfielder Rômulo, who is owned by the club but currently on loan at Novorizontino. Grêmio showed interest but indicated the fee exceeds its financial limits for this transfer window, leaving the negotiation at the inquiry stage. Russian side Rubin Kazan is also monitoring Rômulo, adding further competition.

Palmeiras is also tracking Botafogo‑owned Danilo, a former Palmeiras player, after his recent appearance in the Brazilian league. While a move to Palmeiras looks unlikely now, the club remains open to a future deal that could involve Flamengo and Zenit‑St. Petersburg, with a possible exchange for striker Luiz Henrique. These transfer considerations come as Palmeiras leads the Brasileirão, seeking to strengthen its midfield ahead of upcoming fixtures.
