Palmeiras plans professional promotion for goalkeeper Kauan Lima

Palmeiras is working to extend the contract of goalkeeper Kauan Lima as part of a long-term squad planning strategy. The club has moved forward with an agreement to add an extra season to his current deal, which is set to expire in December 2028, potentially extending his stay until the end of 2029.

Lima, a standout in the club's youth categories and a member of the Brazil U-20 national team, is expected to transition from the youth ranks to the professional squad in 2027. This move comes as the club evaluates its options for the goalkeeper position, as current players Marcelo Lomba and Bruno Bertinato face uncertain futures with contracts ending in December 2026.
