Palmeiras suspends sub-20 player Felipe Teresa over domestic violence allegations

Palmeiras has suspended sub-20 striker Felipe Teresa following domestic violence allegations made by his ex-wife, Marcelle Barbosa. The club's president, Leila Pereira, ordered the immediate removal of the player from all training and matches while investigations proceed.

Barbosa alleged that during a trip from São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro in August, she was subjected to physical aggression, including kicks and a punch to the face. She stated the incident occurred in the presence of their young son. Teresa has denied abandoning his child and maintains that the facts will be clarified in court through legal channels.

Following the public outcry, the legal representatives for both parties reached an agreement to handle the matter privately to protect the privacy and well-being of their minor child. As part of this agreement, Barbosa removed the video containing her allegations from social media. The club has reiterated that it does not tolerate any form of violence against women.
