Palmeiras clinches Ladies Cup title, becomes first bicampeão ahead of Brazilian women’s league

Palmeiras defeated Flamengo 3‑1 in the final of the sixth edition of the Ladies Cup at the Brinco de Ouro da Princesa stadium in Campinas, securing the club’s first bicampeonato. Argentine midfielder Lorena Benítez scored two goals and defender Fe Palermo added another; Flamengo’s lone goal came from a penalty by Mariana.

The victory comes as the Brazilian women’s season resumes after a pause for the men’s World Cup. Palmeiras, now second in the Brasileiro Feminino with 27 points, will face São Paulo in the Paulista on 18 July, while Flamengo, fifth with 22 points, prepares for a Copa do Brasil round‑of‑16 match against 3B da Amazônia on 20 July.

The Ladies Cup, an invitational tournament featuring Brazilian and foreign clubs, serves as a key preparation platform for the upcoming domestic campaign.
