Palmela's Venâncio Ribeiro da Costa Park faces severe structural damage

The Venâncio Ribeiro da Costa Park in Palmela has revealed structural deficiencies more severe than previously estimated by the local City Council. These issues were uncovered during repair works following storms that hit the municipality earlier this year.

Mayor Ana Teresa Vicente confirmed that while the removal of damaged trees has been completed, the park's recovery will enter a second phase. Upcoming tasks include repairing earth supports, fixing irrigation systems, and reforestation. Local officials have not yet provided a specific date for the full or partial reopening of the park to the public.
