Palmoli hosts first reunion for ‘family in the woods’

The family known as the ‘family in the woods’ has reunited in Palmoli, Italy, following a ten-month separation. Catherine Birmingham, Nathan Trevallion, and their three children met for the first time in a house provided by the municipality.

The meeting, which began around 4:30 PM, was described by the parents' lawyer, Simone Pillon, as a joyful and serene encounter. The family spent time playing and preparing dinner together. This reunion follows a previous attempt that was canceled due to concerns regarding safety and privacy.

This meeting is part of a gradual reunification process mandated by the Juvenile Court of L'Aquila. Future steps in the process are expected to include visits to the family's original residence in the woods, though specific dates remain private to protect the family.
