Palo Alto Networks beats Q4 estimates and acquires AI platform Console
Palo Alto Networks has reported fiscal fourth-quarter results that exceeded analyst expectations, driven by strong demand for AI-driven cybersecurity. The company posted revenue of $3.41 billion, a 34% increase year-over-year, and non-GAAP net income of $1.02 billion. Next-generation security annual recurring revenue (ARR) grew 63% to $9.10 billion.
Alongside these results, the company announced the acquisition of Console, an AI-native platform specializing in IT service management and automation. The acquisition is intended to enhance the agentic AI capabilities of Palo Alto Networks’ Cortex platform, allowing security teams to use natural language to build workflows, investigate alerts, and automate remediation tasks. CEO Nikesh Arora described the move as a shift toward “software-as-an-agent,” aiming to provide autonomous security outcomes across enterprises.
Despite the strong financial performance and strategic acquisition, the company's stock experienced volatility following the announcement. Analysts have responded with various price target adjustments, reflecting both the company's growth momentum in the AI security market and the evolving threat landscape posed by automated attacks.
