PALOP Investment Forum convenes in Cape Verde
Representatives from Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP) are meeting in Cape Verde to discuss private investment opportunities in logistics corridors, agribusiness, and sustainable tourism. The second edition of the Lusophone Africa Investment Forum, organized by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), is being held on Sal Island.
Confirmed participating nations include Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, and São Tomé and Príncipe. The forum aims to bridge the gap between international capital and regional opportunities, fostering new business partnerships and economic ties.
Key sessions will address agricultural supply chains, energy, and connectivity. In the energy sector, the forum will feature the National Energy Pact for Cape Verde as part of the ‘Mission 300’ initiative, a joint effort by the World Bank Group and the African Development Bank to provide electricity access to 300 million Africans by 2030. Participating entities include Vinci Concessions, Lobito Atlantic Railway, and RIU Hotels & Resorts.
