Palos de la Frontera and Valladolid host regional tennis and triathlon competitions

The municipal sports centre in Palos de la Frontera will host the V Open de Tenis ‘Virgen de los Milagros’ from 17 to 23 August. Thirty‑two players from Huelva province and neighbouring areas will compete in a mixed hard‑court draw. The winner receives €500, the runner‑up €200, with additional prizes for semifinalists and a consolation bracket. The event also includes a photography contest with cash awards.

In Valladolid, the 28th edition of the Triatlón Ciudad de Valladolid took place at the Parque de las Moreras and the nearby river beach. Athletes completed a 750‑metre swim, a 20‑kilometre bike ride and a 5‑kilometre run. Esther Gómez González dominated the race, winning by four minutes ahead of the field, with Helena Negro second and Mara Prieto third.
