Palworld 1.0 release draws record 500,000+ Steam players and revamps creature designs

Pocketpair launched the full version of Palworld (version 1.0) on 10 July 2026 across Steam, PlayStation Store and other platforms, accompanied by a 30 % discount sale. The launch generated a surge in activity, with Steam reporting a peak of over 850 000 concurrent players and more than 500 000 users online shortly after release. Reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, with about 93 % of over 2 400 user ratings rating the game favorably.

The update introduced extensive new content, including additional Pals, story missions, refreshed battle actions, water‑base construction and expanded multiplayer support. It also featured a visual redesign of several creatures—Verdash, Robinquill, Fengallop and Grintale—to make them look less like Pokémon, a change noted by players and outlets worldwide. A two‑week Twitch "Summer Drop Fest" ran alongside the launch, offering exclusive badges to viewers and streamers.

Overall, the 1.0 launch has re‑energized the Palworld community, cementing the game’s position among the most‑played titles on Valve’s platform.
