Pam Borland joins Pan-Mass Challenge bike-a-thon to raise cancer funds

Pam Borland, a cyclist from Homer, Maine, will ride in the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) bike-a-thon across Massachusetts on Aug. 1‑2. The event brings together more than 6,000 cyclists and 4,000 volunteers to raise money for cancer research and care at the Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute.

The PMC aims to collect $79 million this year, adding to the $1.125 billion it has raised since its 1980 launch. All rider‑raised dollars go directly to Dana‑Farber, a leading U.S. cancer hospital, and the fundraiser highlights a “now, more than ever” theme as federal research support declines and cancer cases rise. PMC founder and chairman Billy Starr emphasized the critical need for each donation to advance the search for a cure.
