Pamekasan police investigate mother suspected of killing 10-year-old daughter

Police in Pamekasan are investigating a fatal incident in which a 31-year-old woman, identified as DA, allegedly killed her 10-year-old daughter, TD. The victim was found bleeding on the terrace of her home in Pademawu Barat Village on August 17, 2026.

Authorities have detained DA, who was reportedly found holding a knife at the scene. Following the incident, the suspect was observed to be unresponsive with a blank stare. Due to a reported history of mental health issues, the Pamekasan Police, in coordination with the Social and Health Services, are arranging for a 5-to-10-day psychiatric observation at the Lawang Mental Hospital (RSJ Lawang).

The results of this medical observation will serve as a critical factor in determining the legal proceedings and whether the suspect will face criminal charges or be handled through mental health protocols.
