Pamela Abdy discusses Hollywood executive departures

Pamela Abdy, the former co-chair and CEO of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, addressed her recent departure from the studio during the Women in Film Honors. Abdy, who was ousted following the $111 billion merger between Paramount, Skydance, and Warner Bros., received the inaugural Vanguard Award at the event.

During her appearance, Abdy expressed concern regarding the recent trend of high-level female executives leaving major studios during industry restructuring and layoffs. She noted that it is “upsetting to see” the departures of female leaders, citing recent exits such as Cindy Holland from Paramount and Bela Bajaria from Netflix.

Regarding her future, Abdy stated she is currently taking a break to spend time with her family. While industry rumors have linked her and partner Michael DeLuca to potential roles at Netflix, Abdy has not confirmed any upcoming professional commitments, stating she intends to continue working with top storytellers when she returns to the industry.
