Pamela Buchanan wins The Great Australian Bake Off 2026

Pamela Buchanan has been crowned the winner of the ninth season of The Great Australian Bake Off. A self-taught baker, Buchanan secured the title in a three-part grand final against fellow finalists Branden Khou and Matt Perillo-Phipps.

For the decisive Showstopper challenge, Buchanan created a two-tier tessellate cake featuring pistachio and rhubarb in the upper tier, and hazelnut and dark chocolate in the lower tier. The design was finished with approximately 240 to 260 handmade multicoloured chocolate bonbons arranged in a geometric pattern. The performance earned high marks from judges Rachel Khoo and Darren Purchese.

Following her victory, Buchanan expressed that the experience was a “dream fulfilled” and a “magical, once-in-a-lifetime experience.” She has since begun planning a new baking business named Bake and Sway.
