Pamela Rae Couch-Bevis charged after giving student box containing sex toy
Pamela Rae Couch-Bevis, a 63-year-old former principal at Miami High School in Oklahoma, has been charged with outraging public decency. The misdemeanor charge follows an incident involving four male students.
According to police affidavits, the students visited Couch-Bevis’ office to retrieve a school mascot costume. During the visit, she allegedly handed one student a cookie box and repeatedly encouraged him to open it, despite his attempts to return it. Upon opening the box, the student discovered a sex toy.
Investigators stated the item had been confiscated from a school restroom during the previous school year and was being kept in Couch-Bevis’ office closet. Couch-Bevis told detectives the incident was a “poor choice” and intended as a joke. She was placed on administrative leave following the incident, and a district judge has found sufficient probable cause for the case to proceed in Ottawa County District Court.
